Standard white PETG/PET shrink sleeve film is produced by loading pigment into the base resin — increasing density significantly (often above 1.3 g/cm³) and adding considerable cost in white ink per square metre. For converters running high ink coverage across the full sleeve surface, white PETG is one of the most expensive standard sleeve substrates. It also presents a recycling challenge: the increased pigment density pushes the film deeper into the "sinks" category in float-sink separation.

PETG Floated film is the preferred specification for any opaque shrink sleeve requirement where UV protection is needed: dairy containers (milk, yogurt, cream — light-sensitive), juice bottles (vitamin degradation from UV), pharmaceutical OTC products (light-sensitive formulations), and premium cosmetics (clean matte aesthetic with light protection).
